William Show, age 91, of Hillsboro OH, passed away early morning on Tuesday August 13, 2024, surrounded by his family at home.
He was born on August 9, 1933, in Hopwood, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Orangie and Myra (Hayden) Show.
William was raised a Christian and attended Catholic Church growing up.
After high school graduation, William proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 24 years of service. Through his years in the Air Force, William and his family moved from Pennsylvania to New York to Alaska to Texas and they eventually settled down in Hillsboro, Ohio. After his service in the Air Force, William was a truck driver for 20 years. He had a lifelong passion for fishing, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 14 in Bainbridge.
William was a family man who loved babies, children, his cats, his dogs, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
William is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Rolando Matías) McKown of Hillsboro, and Marcy (Brian) Lassen of Chillicothe; six grandchildren, Richard (Heather) Sisler, Amberlyn Brethauer, Brian Howard, Andrew Howard, Aurora Lassen, and Faleen Lassen; eight great grandchildren, Alexis (Tyler) Workman, Rayanne Sprinkle, Melanie Howard, Payton Sprinkle, Alyssa Bruening, Rickey Sprinkle, Collyn Sprinkle, Ryan Sisler, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Rae “Nan” Show in 2011; a son, William “Ricky” Show; a grandson, Davide Brethauer Sporano in 2012; seven siblings, Buckley Show, Thomas Show, Yvonne White, Nancy Abbey, Jackie Kollar, and Kathleen Gribble.
Arrangements are under the care of the CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD. A Graveside services with military honors will be held in the Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery in Masontown PA on Saturday August 24th at 12pm with Deacon Cathy Dunn officiating.
A celebration of life luncheon will follow at Jane and Jeff Varney’s home (971 N. Gallatin Ave Uniontown, PA.)
