Veronica L. Young

Veronica L. Young 80, of Connellsville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 24, 1944, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ruth Fearer. She grew up in Markleysburg, Pa and graduated from Turkeyfoot High School in 1962.

She worked as a secretary at the US Chamber of Commerce and The Pentagon in Washington DC. Later in life she worked as a certified nursing assistant at Harmon House, Highlands Hospital and Uniontown Hospital. She retired as a switchboard operator from Uniontown Hospital.

Veronica known to many as “Roni,” started everyday with a smile. She will forever be cherished for her bubbly personality and infectious laugh.

Veronica is survived by her children, son Christopher (Carrie) Young and two daughters Pamela (Rick) Bowser and Patricia (Michael) Grace and 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert Young and her beloved brother Gary Fearer. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Lesley from Amedisys Hospice Care for her compassionate care and support.

Arrangements are under the direction of the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON. A graveside service will be held on Monday May 5th at 11:00 am atThomas Cemetery in Markleysburg, Pa with Pastor Martin Stewart officiating.
