Ruth Shaffer Obituary

Ruth Ann Shaffer age 70 of Hopwood, Pa passed away June 13th, 2021 in Jefferson Hospital. She was born March 1, 1951 in Confluence, Pa. She is the daughter of the late Jesse W. Rugg and Dorothy (Greer) Rugg.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jack Shaffer who passed in 2008.

She is survived by her children step-son Jack Shaffer Jr. (Jenny) of Little Brownfield, Dawn Rihaly (John) of Springfield, Va, Marsha Chalut (James) of Huntsville, Alabama, Leann Liston (Jimmy) of Brownsville, Christina Orbash (Edwin) of Brownsville, ten grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings Donald JR Rugg (Nova) of Confluence, Dorothy L. Hillard of Confluence, Beaty McClintock of Confluence and Douglas Rugg (Deb) of Confluence.

She was a member of Hopwood Free Methodist Church, and the owner of Creative Touch Florist in Hopwood.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME HOPWOOD, PA on Wednesday June 16th, 2021 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm and Thursday June 17th, 2021 in Hopwood Free Methodist Church at 11:00am the time of the service with Pastor Charles O’Brien Officiating the service. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. "This Too Shall Pass and Joy will come in the morning"
