Ross Presley Stickle, 83, of Uniontown, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, at Jefferson Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born August 2, 1941, in Shady Grove, PA, son of the late John Ross and Charlotte Elizabeth (Yauger) Stickle.
Ross was a graduate of North Union High School class of 1959. He was a sergeant in the Army, an honor graduate in construction machinery, and served in the reserves and the Army Corps of Engineers. He is a member of Amvets in Hopwood, PA, and the American Legion.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic and member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66.
He was a lifelong outdoorsman and NRA member, enjoying fishing and hunting, and was a member of a hunting club in Brandywine, West Virginia and a beloved member and trustee of Connersville St., Church of Christ.
Ross was predeceased by his parents, brother William, wife of 50 years Linda (Sanner), brother-in-law Claude Elder, and recently cousin Daniel Yauger.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Charlotte (Thorpe), daughter Cynthia, son-in-law Joseph Higgins, grandson Ryan Presley, sister Ruth Elder, dear family friend Kathy Swink, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD on Thursday August 29 from 4-8pm and on Friday August 30 in the Connellsville Street Church of Christ, Uniontown from 10am until the hour of the funeral service at 11am with Minister Michael Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown.
A funeral luncheon will follow interment of Friday August 30 in the Hopwood AMVETS.
