Robert Lee Bankhead, 77, of Farmington, went to be with the Lord on Monday May 20, 2024, while at the Goodwill Retirement Home.
He was born June 10, 1946, in Bruceton Mills, WV.
He was a retired Coal Miner for Maple Creek Mining Inc and served in the U.S. Army.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother Betty Marie (Wiles) Bankhead; brother Sonny Bankhead; and wife of 41 years Winnie L. Hager-Bankhead "Sis".
He is survived by his stepchildren Thomas Hager (Stacie) of Farmington, Jeffrey C. Hager (Karen) of Newport News, VA, Todd Hager (Lisa) of Farmington, and Christa Hager (Jeff) of Friendsville, MD; sister Barbara Jackson of Ohio; grandchildren Tyler, Devin, Lakin, Brittiny, and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Luke, Layla, Waylon, Bentley, Nevaeh, Grayson, Evi June, Colt, and Crew.
He was a member of the Wharton Twp. Hunting and Fishing Club. He had a love for hot rods and animals.
There will be no viewing per Robert’s request. A private memorial will be held graveside with the family with Preacher Mark Lawson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s honor to Farmington Fire Hall or Thomas Cemetery.
