The man. The myth. The most stubborn man you could ever meet.
Richard Lee Hice, born March 28th, 1954, has passed away on November 22nd, 2023, at the age of 69. He was one hell of a fighter all the way to the end. Rich was also someone who loved motorcycles, chocolate, and a good cup of coffee in the morning. He enjoyed popping in on his loved ones randomly and unannounced, almost as much as he enjoyed being on the open road on two wheels. Richard was definitely someone who had a contagious laugh and always had a witty remark to retort with. But not only that, he’s a Brother, a Father, and a Pap. The love that his family and friends shared with him could never be denied, even more so when we all went with him on that last motorcycle ride.
Rich is preceded in death by his parents Dirl Hice & Dorothy Mae (Linderman) Hice and his siblings Barbara Hice, Douglas Hice, Joseph Hice Sr., and Linda (Zaksek) Hice.
He’s survived by his children Kimberly (Idrovo) Hice & her fiancé Michael Crosby, Jamie (Guth) Hice, Joni Hice, and Richard Brant (Amanda Brant). His grandchildren Taylor Ansell (Tyler Baxter), Christian Idrovo (Christen Keedy), Eric Idrovo (Sammie Kosslow), Nicholas Guth, Matthew Guth, Nash Grant and his great grandchild Draxton Baxter. A lifelong best friend Eva Rockwell (Rankin). His siblings Eva Howard (Champ Howard), Wilma Yauger, Dolores Kolarik, Lisa Kalivoda (John Kalivoda), Anna Margret, John Hice (Susan Hice), Kevin Pritts (Charlotte Pritts), and Michael Pritts (Angie Pritts). As well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME (HOPWOOD) on Sunday November 26 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. Additional visitation will be held on Monday from 9AM until the hour of the funeral service at 10am. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
