Richard P. Fike Sr.

Richard P. Fike Sr., 81, of Markleysburg, passed away on Friday May 17, 2024 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 14, 1942, the son of the late Arnold and Gladys (Roberts) Fike

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother George Fike and Grandson David Fike.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Grace E. (Savage) Fike; children Richard P. Fike Jr. of Markleysburg and Eileen G. Liston (Willie) of Markleysburg; grandchildren Richard P. Fike (III) (Joann), Allison Mitchell (Trevor), Earl Liston (Jasmine), Diana Liston (Jared); 8 great-grandchildren; Brother Edwin Fike of Markleysburg; and sister Marian King (Larry) of Markleysburg.

He was a member of Union Chapel Church.

Richard owned Fike’s Garage in Markleysburg. He was the former chief of Markleysburg-Henry Clay Volunteer Fire Deparment for 25 years and was recently president of the fire department and also president of the Zoning Board for Henry Clay Twp. He was also a postal worker for several years before his retirement.

Family and friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON on Monday May 20 from 6-8pm, on Tuesday May 21 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a fireman’s service being conducted by Markleysburg-Henry Clay Fire Department at 7pm and on Wednesday May 22 from 10am until the hour of the funeral service at 11am with Pastor David Herring officiating. Interment will follow in Thomas Cemetery.
