Richard S. Diehl, 90, of Uniontown passed away on Monday February 5, 2024 at Beechwood Court.
He was born October 7, 1933 in Uniontown, PA, the son of the late Norman and Adeline Byers Diehl
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Charlotte Diehl; and son-in-law Vic Rossini.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Connie diehl; son Keith Diehl (Rosa Eberly); daughter Pam Jacobs (Ed); grandson Seth McElroy; nieces Ruth Machtley, Carol Diehl, and Nancy Hartley (Ryan).
Dick was a graduate of Uniontown Area High School, served in the US Army, and was employed by Bell Telephone until his retirement. He was a “Mr. Fix-it" for a lifetime but his passion was for woodworking. He produced many cherished pieces out of his garage shop. He instilled in his children the love of camping and being outside sitting around the fire telling old camp stories with his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Dick was a member of the Uniontown Church of the Brethren where he and Connie served as lifetime Deacons. He was a past member of the Hopwood Lions Club and received the distinguished Melvin Jones Award.
Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD on Wednesday February 7 from 5pm-8pm with a deacon service held at 6:30pm. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday February 8 at the Uniontown Church of the Brethren from 12:30pm until the hour of the funeral service at 1:30pm with pastors Ed Moore and bob Stein officiating.
Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetry Farmington, PA.
