Patricia (Gordon) Americo

Patricia Gordon Americo, 97, of Farmington, PA, passed away on Monday September 25, 2023 at Uniontown Hospital. 

She was born March 15, 1926 in Brownsville, PA. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Thompson) Gordon. 

She graduated from Uniontown Highschool and Waynesburg College where she met her husband Peter J. Americo. They got married on December 26, 1948 and moved to the mountains (Farmington, PA) a few years later. 

She worked as a substitute teacher and in a dental lab before starting her family. She served as President of the Great Meadows Garden Club and later founded the Country Cupboard and Christmas Shop. She worked for Vita Home Care Nursing Agency for many years until her retirement. 

Patricia was predeceased by her husband Peter Americo and her brother Thomas Gordon. 

She is survived by her son Peter G. Americo and his wife Jessy; daughter Amy Americo; grandchildren, Colette and Luna Alberts; great-granddaughter Emerson; and sister-in-law Lou Gordon. 

She loved the outdoors, gardening, and traveling with her family and friends. She loved being a grandmother and enjoyed sharing stories of her life growing up during the Great Depression and World War II. 

Patricia loved animals and had many pets including a monkey and a goat. She would take in any stray that approached her door.  

She was interested in many topics, particularly US history and war history. She spent her last few years at Bella Healthcare Center where she would hand out candy to anyone who entered her room. 

Patricia will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Arrangements are under the direct care and supervision of the DONALD R CRAWORD FUNERAL HOME (FARMINGTON). As per the families wishes all services will be held privately.
