Nancy (Nesmith) Workman

Nancy Nesmith Workman, 93, of Hopwood, passed away on Saturday July 13, 2024.

She was born January 25, 1931 in Uniontown, the daughter of the late William Franklin and Bertha (Miller) Nesmith.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband John T. “Jack” Workman in 1989; son John Daniel Workman in 2012 and his wife Rebecca (Cropp) Workman in 2020; brother William R. Nesmith; sisters Patricia Hehr and Betty Tarr; brothers-in-law William Hehr and Burton Tarr; and sister-in-law Ruth Ferree Nesmith.

Nancy is survived by her son Thomas Lee Workman and his wife Heather (Thompson) Workman of Hopwood; granddaughters Amanda, Sarah, and Emily; grandson Benjamin; one great granddaughter Eva Kaydence Miller; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Nancy was an active member of the Hopwood United Methodist Church all her life. She attended Sunday school and church regularly and was a member of United Methodist Women and the church choir. She also served on various committees over the years.

She was a graduate of the former South Union High School class of 1948. She was a cashier/clerk at the Uniontown Hospital Gift Shop for twenty years having retired in 1999.

Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME HOPWOOD on Wednesday July 17 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Additional visitation will be held in the Hopwood United Methodist Church on Thursday July 18 from 10am until the hour of the funeral service at 11am with Pastor Diane Olson officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
