Joyce Early Hospodavis Obituary

Joyce Early Hospodavis, 71, of Hopwood, PA, passed on to her eternal heavenly home on Aug. 12, 2019 after a short illness. She was born on Aug. 5, 1948. On May 25, 1968 she married Martin (Marty) Hospodavis, who survives her.

Affectionately known as "Mumsey" to her family and close friends, Joyce has always been the family care-giver. Over many years, as family members’ health has failed, Joyce has been the kind-hearted person who felt called to come to their side, assisting in every way possible. This has included her own parents, who preceded her in death, Ruth S. and Warren M. Early; Marty’s mother, and other aunts and uncles.

Joyce graduated from Uniontown Area Sr High School in 1966 and from Morgantown Business College in 1967. She was employed by James Zaiden, MD, as a medical secretary, and the Builders Association of Fayette County as a secretary.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Ronald Hospodavis (Laura) of Smock, PA and Jeffery Hospodavis (Natalie) of Uniontown. She has been "Nana" to Ron and Laura's sons, Evan, Daniel and Kyle Hospodavis. Joyce is also survived by her siblings: Coleen Early Chatee of Bowie, MD, Richard Early (Robin) of Charlotte, NC, Alan Early (Connie) of Uniontown and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, on Thursday August 15, 2019 from 3-8pm and Friday August 16, 2019 until 11:00am the hour of the service with Reverend Dale Rexrode Officiating. Interment will follow in IOOF Cemetery in Smithfield, PA.
