Janet Y. Maust

Janet Y. Maust, 91, of Hopwood, passed away on Wednesday September 10, 2025 at home.

She was born May 10, 1934 in Friendsville, MD, the daughter of the late Randall and Yvonne (Hoye) Friend.

In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by her husband Charles Maust (1994); fiancé Paul Zubovich (2008); siblings Joyce Nalepka and Gary friend; and sister-in-law Mary Jo Mattia

Janet is survived by her nephews Garry Friend (Shelley), Gregory Friend of Baltimore, MD, Grant Friend (Jennifer) of McLean, VA, Kevin Nalepka of NY and Keith Nalepka of MD; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Anna Margaret Sparks.

She was a member of St. John’s R.C. Church, Uniontown and AMVETS POST 103 Auxiliary.

She worked for Rockwell Manufacturing for many years before her retirement.

Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD on Friday September 12 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday September 13 from 11am until prayers of transfer at 12pm followed by a mass of Christian burial in St. John’s R.C. Church at 12:30pm. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
