James Stafford Obituary

James Orville Stafford “Orv” age 73 of Hopwood, Pa passed away Saturday December 14, 2019 in Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born May 1, 1946 in Uniontown, Pa. He is the son of the late William Stafford and Estella (Smitley) Stafford.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a grandson Sam Stafford and his sister Opal Sabatini and Patricia Twell.

He is survived by his children Lisa Barron (Steve) of Union Bridge, Md, Jim Stafford (Heather) of New Bloomfield, Pa, Chad Stafford (Leslie) of State College, Pa, Chris Beddick (Kristin) of Latrobe, Pa, Megan Vernon (Mike) of Uniontown, Pa, grandchildren Courtney Smeigh, Hannah Barron, Abbe Barron, Sarah Barron, Will Beddick, Jack Beddick, Jakob Stafford, Madison Vernon, Gracelyn Stafford. Brothers and sisters Leona Porreca and Phyllis McFadden of Uniontown, Pa, Donald Stafford (Wilma) of Fairchance, Pa, Louise Thomas of Uniontown, Pa Gloria Thomas (Barry) of Uniontown, Pa, Diane Papincak (Mark) of Smithfield, Pa. Previous Marriages Linda and Jennifer Stafford and special friend Carole Kanuch of Dunbar, Pa.

James was a member of The Central Christian Church in Uniontown where he served as an Elder. He was an appliance repair man for fifty years where he worked at Montgomery Ward and owned and operated his own business Jim Staffords Appliance and Repair. He graduated from South Union High School with the class of 1965. He was a member of the Amvets Post 103 in Hopwood, and was a member of the American Legion Post #51 in Uniontown. James was a long- time coach and manager for various softball leagues.

Friends will be received in THE DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME HOPWOOD, PA, from 2 to 8pm on Tuesday December 17, 2019. Visitation will continue Wednesday December 18, 2019 in the Central Christian Church in Uniontown from 10 to 11am the hour of the service with Pastor Heather Simpson officiating the service. Interment will follow after the service.
