Gretchen (Magie) Ciaramella

Gretchen (Magie) Ciaramella, 89, of Hopwood, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her parents Josiah and Irene Magie (Stillwagon) of Uniontown, husband Francis Ciaramella, daughter Carla Lee, son Marc Stephen, and siblings.

Gretchen was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by son Jeffrey Ciaramella and wife Susan; daughter Julie Ciaramella; daughter-in-law Maria Schiano Ciaramella; cherished grandmother of Christian and Dante Ciaramella, Abigail and Jeremy Ciaramella; many loving nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.

Gretchen was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Uniontown. She was a graduate of St. John’s Catholic High School. She was a member of the Jefferson Club for many years. She was a longtime employee and eventual manager of the South Union Tax Collector Office.

She was an avid sports fan, loved the ocean and cherished her memories of many family trips to the beach.

She was absolutely devoted to her four grandchildren and their lives. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD on Friday May 3 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a prayer vigil being held at 7pm and on Saturday May 4 until 9:00am when prayers of transfer will be said followed by a mass of Christian burial at 9:30am in St. Johns The Evangelist R.C.  Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
