Gary L. Crayton

Gary L. Crayton, passed away quietly with his family by his side on Thursday January 23, 2025.

He was born June 10, 1935 in Lemont Furnace, the son of the late James and Nellie (Barnett) Crayton. 

Gary is predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Deloris (Butler) Crayton and siblings, Barbara Gillan, Phyllis Bell, Gwendolyn “Ray” Morrison, Joan Nuckels, and Donald J. “Duck” Crayton. 

He had 89 years to enjoy his family and friends. He was a member of the Farmington Fire Department for many years and enjoyed playing poker with a group of friends there.  His favorite activity was fishing at the Yough and Highpoint lakes with his beloved grandson, Logan.  They spent many hours enjoying each other’s company while pursuing their favorite activity.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Sondra, son, Gary Robert (Samatha) as well as three grandchildren, Logan (Lindsey), Sara (Vincent), and Josh as well as three great grandchildren, Remi, Leo and Grant.   

The family would like to give thanks to the staff at the Henry Clay Villa and Amedisys Hospice Care for the care he received with them.   

Arrangements are under the direction of the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON, PA. Per Gary’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
