Eugene E. Rugg

Eugene E. Rugg, 82, of Confluence, PA, passed away on January 1, 2026 at his home.

He was born August 18, 1943 to the late James C. and Olive I. (Glisan) Rugg.

Gene loved hunting, trapping, and fishing. He would help anyone with anything from masonry work to building decks and porches or just sitting around talking and drinking coffee.

In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Jessie G. (Ulderich) Rugg and his brother Floyd Rugg.

He is survived by his five children Donald and Leslie of Confluence, Timothy of Confluence, Jody and Brenda of Confluence, Patricia and Jerry Giannopoulos of Markleysburg, and Vincent of Dunbar; 12 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 3 great-grandsons; sister Bonnie; and brother John.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to his best friend Missy, caregiver Wanda, his aide Penny, and all the great nurses at Amedisys Hospice.

Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON, PA on Tuesday January 6 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7 from 12pm until the hour of the funeral service at 1pm. Interment will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
