Obituary
Edward J. Sohyda, 79, of Uniontown passed away on March 13, 2023.
Edward was born May 10, 1943 to John Sohyda and Helen Sohyda in Canonsburg, PA. He graduated from Uniontown High School in 1961. Edward was a Veteran in the United States Army and went on to work for the United States Postal Service for more than 40 years when he retired.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Sohyda. Surviving family include his wife of 56 years, Sandra Sohyda, son David E. Sohyda (Kelly), daughter Jamie Mitchell (Jason), grandchildren Chelsea Sohyda, David R. Sohyda, Zachary Mitchell (Rachel), Eli Mitchell (Jalyn), Anna Mitchell, great-granddaughter Elaine Mitchell, brother James Sohyda (Anna), and sister Helen Sohyda-Fife.
Edward attended Asbury United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to his grandchildren’s sporting events, traveling with his wife, woodworking and spending time in his vegetable and flower gardens.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME HOPWOOD, PA, On Wednesday March 15, 2023 from 4-7pm and Thursday March 16, 2023 from 11am to 12 noon the time of the service with Pastor Jason Lamar officiating the service. Interment will be private for the family.
