Denton C. Martin, 73, of Vanderbilt, PA, passed away on Wednesday November 12, 2025.
He was born May 3, 1952, the son of the late Frederick and Lydia (Ellsworth) Martin.
In addition to his parents, Denton is preceded in death by his siblings Frederick Curtis Martin, Charles Arthur Martin, Royce Edward Martin, Myrna Louise Martin, Wilbur William Martin, Newton Henry Martin, Lydia Margaret Martin, Dennis Danielle Martin, David Dale Martin, Jasper Terrance Martin, and Justin Sterling Martin.
Denton is survived by his daughter Teresa Kemp (Martin) (John Kemp Jr.) of Big Brownfield, PA; their son John Kemp III (Heidi) of Dunbar, PA; their daughter Hannah Lynn Kemp (Devin Morrison) of Ohiopyle, PA; their grandchildren Camden (Deberry) Kemp, John Kemp IV, Karter Kemp, Von Jack Kemp all of Dunbar, PA.
Denton is also survived by his son Clifford Lee Martin Sr. (Sarah Martin) of Lithia, FL; their children Chelsey Lee (Martin) Baird (John) of Lithia, FL and Clifford Lee Martin Jr. (Nadia) of North Port, FL; and their grandchildren Elijah Michael Baird and Ruby Lee Baird of Lithia, FL.; brother Rance Martin (Barbara) of Uniontown, PA; ex-wife Linda (Martin) Bowlen of Big Brownfield, PA; and special friend Robert Rowan (Diane) of Vanderbilt, PA.
He was a driver for Fayette Area Coordinated Transportation (FACT) for many years.
Denton loved his red Corvette and took great pleasure in spending time outdoors. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and watching Gunsmoke and professional wrestling.
Above all, Denton loved his family. Each year he grew his beard so he could play Santa Claus, bringing joy to residents in local nursing homes and delivering gifts to his landlord’s children and to all the neighboring children.
He was a member of Woodbridge Union Community Church in Smithfield, PA.
Visitation will be held in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, PA on Friday November 21 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday November 22 from 9am until the hour of the funeral service at 10am. Interment will follow in White Rock Cemetery.
