Dale W. Shimko, 76, of Uniontown, PA, born June 6, 1949, son of Dorothy (Marker) and Rev. Amos Shimko died on May 22, 2026, in Tamarac, FL.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife Dr. Devyani Sanders.
He is survived by his former wife Rebecca Jane Fels; his two daughters; Gretchen (Joseph) Schiltz of Deerfield, IL and Hether (Billy) Palmer of Baraboo, WI; Grandchildren Ben, Jackson, and Samuel Schiltz, Cody Kaiser, and Josiah Palmer; sisters Deanna (Chuck) Herman of Waterford, WI; and brother Darl (Jackie) Shimko of Fitchburg, WI.
Dale graduated from West High School in Madison, WI. He attended UW in Madison, WI and received an MBA degree in business. He led a career as a director of Human Resources which included international work in China. After that her worked at the VA in Miami, FL to help his fellow veterans. He moved around a lot in his childhood due to his father answering his call to the ministry and becoming a pastor with the United Methodist Church. Dale was drafted into the Army in the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. He was a Sargent and drove tanks.
He loved fishing and hunting. He would spend many hours at his parents’ cabin in the woods in Wisconsin hunting deer. He also had a real passion for fishing and loved to spend time outdoors.
Arrangements are under the direction of the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD. There will be no visitation and interment will be private.
The family would like to invite everyone to a luncheon at Curt’s family Restaurant on June 6, 2026, at 12pm.
