Caesar Francis DeFrancisco born November 13, 1943 and died May 9, 2025
Peacefully and in comfort just after 5 am Friday surrounded by the staff at WVU Uniontown Hospital and Pastor Gary, we lost our patriarch.
"Caes" as many called him was extraordinary. A master bricklayer, masonry, electrician, plumber, roofer, arborist, mechanic and many other adjectives and nouns, he spent his life as a bonafide artist.
He hunted everything, fished professionally and played Texas Hold 'Em regularly. He boated, he beached, he ice fished, he rode ATV's and built thousands of amazing fires. He was a vocal Steelers, Pens and Bucs fan, in that order. He encouraged everyone he met and knew to share in his adventures throughout the Appalachian Mountains and beyond. "Dahn the Yough with Caes" is where you most likely ate his famous "slop"
He is preceded in death by his devoted wife of nearly 45 years, Carole. They shared many wonderful years at their cabin in Confluence. Together they raised her sons Jason (Leann and sons Luca, Logan & Rocco) and Matthew, deceased in 2018(Christine and daughters Karissa & Brooke) Attanucci. Also passing before our father was his first born, Caesar Francis "little Caesar" DeFrancisco in 2017.
His second wife, Barbara Mae DeFrancisco passed in 2006, they share daughter, Jennifer Mae (Andrew and children Van and Gia) Current. Jennifer also has an eldest son, Luc T. Forrest of Colorado.
We are all especially grateful to his buddy Marchall Shankle who was there for Caesar's surviving daughters during his final week. Marchall loved him like a father. You are our brother now, thank you.
Most recently in Fairchance, PA, he lived with his first wife Margaret "Margie" Bertrand and their daughter Natalie Noelle DeFrancisco (son Cory Ondo). Together they played with their dogs, Tilley Mae and Annie. They often would steam crabs and bake nut rolls. They also enjoyed bingo and watching "The Price Is Right" together.
Caesar made peace with everyone in the end and for that, we are eternally grateful. We love you dad.
