Nick A. Rogers, 87, of Washington, formerly of Uniontown, died Thursday, May 24, 2018, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born March 20, 1931, in Uniontown, a son of the late Sam and Pauline Rogers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Rogers.
He retired in 1995 after working more than 40 years at Rockwell International Corp., Uniontown.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Service Star and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal.
Mr. Rogers was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.
On February 4, 1956, in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, Fairchance, he married Joann Kozlina, who died Nov. 7, 2015.
Surviving are a son, Nick, and his wife, Liz, of Washington; a daughter. Chris, (Rod) of Washington; three granddaughters, Caitlin, Mackenzie and Mallory Rogers, all of Washington; a sister, Palma Shetler, and her husband, Jim, of Republic, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and Thursday until 9:30 where Prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a funeral mass at 10 am in St. Therese Roman Catholic Church. Interment in St Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance
