Geraldine Kamp Obituary

Geraldine “Gerry” Kamp (Morgan) died on Friday, May 17, 2019 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 30, 1946 and grew up on the South Side. She spent lots of time at her family cottage at Tub Run on the Youghiogheny Lake where she found and, on June 19, 1964, married her soulmate, Jimmy Kamp. They enjoyed life together raising their kids, spoiling their grandkids, farming the family farm, and eventually establishing Kamp’s Personal Care Home.

Gerry dedicated her life to taking care of others and touched the lives of many people. After continuing her education in the early 80s, she worked for and became close friends with Dr. Barbara Wilhelm and the late Dr. Frank Perrone while serving as a volunteer EMT for Marclay Community Ambulance. In 1993, she and her husband opened Kamp’s Personal Care Home where they worked as a team to provide legendary care to others. To this day, their care and dedication are well-known and deeply respected.

In her “spare” time, Gerry enjoyed her time being the best gram in the world (doing pretty much whatever the grandkids wanted), painting nature’s beauty with a remarkable talent, appreciating the small things in life with her husband, sister, and brother-in-law (Kathy and Russ Hilpert), and happily serving as the self-appointed pet-lover of the family.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents (Catherine and Leroy “George” Morgan, Pittsburgh, PA), her husband (James F., Confluence, PA), newborn son (Richard J.), and sisters (Kathleen Hilpert and Marlene Lochrie, both of Pittsburgh, PA).

She is survived by her kids Holly Diehl (Glenn, of Addison, PA), Becky Wheeley (Dan, of Uniontown, PA), Jody Kamp (Jamie, of Farmington, PA), Jamey Kamp (of Confluence, PA), Nicole Tomblin (Kevin, of Accident, MD), and Morgan Kamp (Missy, of Farmington, PA). She was super proud of eight grandkids Dakota Diehl, Mikaela Kamp, Tatum Clevenger, Madelynn Kamp, Brycen Tomblin, Josie Kamp, Olyvia Kamp, and Abrielle Kamp. Gerry is survived by two brothers, both of Pittsburgh, PA, George “Huck” and Dean Morgan.

The family is forever grateful for the love and care given by the staff of Lytle’s Personal Care Home (previously Kamp’s PCH) and for the TLC given by her sister-in-law, Debbie Myers, in Gerry’s final days. Family and friends will be received at

Crawford Funeral Home, Farmington, PA 15437 on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 and Monday until 9:30am when prayers of transfer will be said followed by a funeral mass at 10:00am in Saint Joan of Arc RC Church, Farmington. Interment will follow in Visitation Cemetery, Elliottsville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of Fayette County, 137 N. Beeson Blvd. #106, Uniontown, PA 15401, and Markleysburg Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 43 Markleysburg, PA 15459.
