Albert (Bert) D Lowry Jr, age 92 of Farmington, PA, died peacefully Friday, October 26, 2018 with his wife of 62 years, Mary Margaret (Spaw), by his side.
He was born February 9, 1926 in Greenbrier, PA, son of the late Albert Sr and Oura Odessa (Bryner).
Bert was an employee of the lumber industry for all of his life starting at age 13. He was an Army Veteran from World War II.
Bert was a member of Mount Washington Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret, his children; Frank Lowry (Dianne), Denise Ulrich (Gary), Kent Lowry (Trina), and grandchildren; Brandy (Kevin), Amber (Mark), Ashley (Stephen), Jamie, Demi, Theresa, Shelby, Chad, and great grandchildren; Cole, Josiah, M J, Adyson, Trever (Julie), Josie, Klaus, and brothers and sisters in law; Caroline Lowery, Tom Wallace, Roy (Odie) Spaw, Marlin Lawson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bert was the last surviving member of his immediate family. ‘
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers; Alberta (Ollie) Leonard, Bob (Nina) Lowry, Martha (Doc) Schartiger, Mae Lowry, Iola Lowry, Reuben Lowery, Dalton Lowry, Edith Wallace, Dale Lowry, Roger (Guelda) Lowery, Erma (Ralph) Van Sickle, Lena Lawson, Marlene (Carl) Hyme.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME FARMINGTON Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 and Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM the hour of the service with Reverend Carol Friend officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Washington Cemetery, Farmington, PA.
Military Rites will be accorded at gravesite by Farmington VFW Post 265.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Washington Presbyterian Church, Farmington Volunteer Fire Department, or Fayette EMS.
